How We Make Texbrick ™️
Five careful steps turn leftover textiles into a durable, low-carbon building material.
- 01
Sorting
Sorting the textiles is the most important step, because the final colours come straight from the fabric itself.
No dyes or colourants are ever added.
- 02
Shredding
The textiles are broken down into fibres and separated by colour.
The exact quantity for each order is prepared in advance, so the material stays consistent.
- 03
Binder
The fibres are blended with our own binder, an eco-friendly formulation.
Made only from bio-based ingredients and minerals.
- 04
Compression
The blend is shaped by hand and cold-compressed in moulds we developed ourselves.
This gives us the freedom to create a wide range of shapes and geometries.
- 05
Drying
Our bricks and design pieces dry naturally, with no added heat or thermal treatment.
This keeps our energy use very low and the carbon footprint of the process small.
